As per ESPN’s Darren Rovell, LeBron James signed his first-lifetime deal with Nike back in 2015. It represented the largest single-athlete endorsement contract in the company’s history. That was one of the biggest shoe deals a professional basketball player ever got since Michael Jordan had it.
Soon enough, shoe fans observed that LeBron James went into a Lakers’s Sunday night home game against the Rockets dressed in what he was calling “Aurora Lights”. An X account by NBA Kicks posted a photo of James’ trainers. The same investigation also reveals that additional information about James’ new colors will be out soon.
His new shoes are expected to go on sale in a matter of time, and the NBA world has started observing them. The Los Angeles Lakers won their first game of the season against the Houston Rockets after the new Aurora Lights colorway made its debut in LA’s Sunday night home opener at the Crypto.com Arena.
The amount of up to $1 billion paid to LeBron James by Nike aroused contradictory rumors. Some said this figure was no less than $500 million. As per Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, his annual pay by Nike is “multiple times” thirty dollars million.
Even though a lot has changed over the last two decades, LeBron James remains trustworthy for his fans. As “The Chosen One”, the fifteen-time NBA All-Star has lived his life beyond any high expectations. Likewise, Nike and James’s loyal followers knew they could expect a new season’s performance in terms of scoring points and retaining their respective titles. One of the most impressive signature sneakers is a result of the cooperation established between the Oregon-based company and James.
LeBron James: From rookie contract to a billion-dollar empire
In 2003, James signed his first contract with Nike, which was a seven-year, $90 million deal. There is no doubt that it was profitable for all parties involved that the company would give a shot to an 18-year-old high school star. James has been the face of the NBA for more than 10 years. In addition, Nike remains the greatest shoe company.
In his own style, James was able to pocket over a billion dollars in 2022 from sponsorships and investments that placed him as the highest-paid active NBA player with $431 million. He was with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and LA Lakers. LeBron James, who is an NBA All-Star, has an estimated net worth of one billion dollars.
