The NBA playoffs have been full of surprises, drama, and intensity. But sometimes, the most entertaining part of the night is watching the TNT crew break down the games and have some fun. Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley are known for their playful and fiery banter on Inside the NBA, and they delivered another memorable moment on Friday night.

The Boston Celtics pulled off a stunning win over the Miami Heat with a buzzer-beater shot by Derrick White. The win extended the series to a decisive Game 7 on Sunday. The TNT crew was on the scene to recap the game and look ahead to the next one. But things took a personal turn when they showed a graphic of the elimination game records of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Johnson had a solid 10-3 record in elimination games as a high school basketball player. Barkley had a respectable 14-12 record in his NBA career. But O’Neal had a disappointing 6-12 record, including being swept four times in the playoffs.

Barkley didn’t hesitate to poke fun at O’Neal for his lackluster performance in win-or-go-home situations. He even called him “overrated” and challenged his greatness. O’Neal tried to brush it off by mentioning his four championship rings and three Finals MVP awards. But Barkley was not buying it and kept teasing him.

This was not the first time that Shaq and Chuck had a heated exchange on live TV. The two former NBA stars have a long history of rivalry that goes back to their playing days. They met in the 1995 NBA Finals, where O’Neal’s Orlando Magic lost to Barkley’s Houston Rockets in four games.

They also had several physical confrontations on the court, most notably in 1999 when they threw punches at each other during a regular season game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets. They both received suspensions and fines for their actions.

But over the years, Shaq and Chuck also developed a friendship and a mutual respect for each other. They joined forces on the TNT crew in 2011 and have been entertaining fans with their insightful and humorous commentary ever since. They often disagree and argue, but they also make up and laugh at themselves.

That’s what makes them so relatable and entertaining to watch. They are not just analysts, they are personalities. And they always keep it real, even if it means calling each other “overrated”.
