Damian Lillard has been a real one for Chris Paul as recently he stepped up for the point god against the disrespect and critical takes of Patrick Beverley. Patrick Beverley has been trolling and disrespecting Chris Paul since the Dallas Mavericks eliminated the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of the western conference semi-finals. Not many expected the results as everyone wanted a fierce battle between the two teams. But unfortunately, that didn’t happen as the Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks dominated the game and handed a 33 points embarrassing blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns who got a trip to the finals last season. The blowout loss and the poor performance of Chris Paul gave Patrick Beverley an opportunity and he didn’t miss as he threw some wild shade on the Suns’ point guard. But Damian Lillard has responded by defending his mate and has also fired back.
Patrick Beverley disrespected Chris Paul on national television by targeting his defensive skill set and made bold claims like: “Man, CP can’t guard nobody, man. Everybody in the NBA knows that. What do we call him? Cone”. Yes, the biggest trash talker in the league called out one of the best point guards around a cone and said he can’t play no defense. But it doesn’t end here he also gave a pre-game routine of his before playing against Chris Paul and again disrespected the guard by bringing Stephen Curry into the conversation and his preparations. Pat is also tweeting out against him and showcasing nothing but absolute hate. There aren’t many names defending the Point God but Damian Lillard is surely on the list.
Damian Lillard via his personal Twitter handle is standing strong and responding to the senseless takes of Patrick Beverley. He is even firing back as he retweeted to a Twitter user who claimed: “Patrick Beverley’s stats aren’t bad”. In his response, Damian Lillard said “cuz nobody guarding this man”.

Fans are happy spectating guys like Matt Barnes and Damian Lillard step up for Chris Paul against Patrick Beverley. As that’s a very senseless take since the Point God has multiple defensive honors from the league and has even stepped up in the clutch with his great defensive skillset many times during important games.
