Luka Doncic is all over the NBA headlines and the reason this time isn’t just the godlike offensive skillset of his or his heroics in the recent game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Instead, the disappointed basketball world is once again talking about the game officials at the heated discussion table. As the refs handed out an unnecessary and completely senseless technical foul to Luka Doncic.
Recently, the Dallas Mavericks hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder at American Airlines Center. The Mavs got themselves a good lead to play with, in the first half itself. But the game got closely contested and head-to-head in the second one. The Mavericks though wrapped it up at 121-114 as Luka Doncic was doing a little bit of everything while leading them ahead.
In the game, OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 42 points and had 3 rebounds while dishing out 2 dimes. He made all the possible efforts to register a dub but those weren’t enough to get past of the Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks. As the Slovenian All-Star point guard erupted for 38 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists while leading his team to a dub.
But in the third quarter with ten minutes remaining on the clock, Luka Doncic was handed out a technical foul and this had the star ready to square up against the referee who called the foul on him. As it was completely senseless since Luka was yelling at his teammate, Dwight Powell and not trash-talking or poking a rival player. This also has the internet mad at the officials and the officiating system.

Dwight Powell unintentionally allowed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander an easy bucket. As the OKC Thunder guard drove in and got two easy points. So Luka Doncic boosting his teammate up in order to play some tough ball out there yelled at him. And, while doing so Luka clapped at him and said: “Come on Man! Let’s Go!”

The Dallas Mavericks right now are ranked at the 8th spot in the western conference with a record of 14 wins and 13 losses. Luka Doncic is having an MVP season this year but the team hasn’t seen much of success. And, it’s high time for the front office to move some pieces and bring the team into contention. Even though the Slovenian guard last year single-handedly carried the team to the Western Conference Finals he still needs a real star to trust the ball with.
