Watch: Donovan Mitchell tells LeBron James and Co. to ‘Go the F**k Home’ after hitting game-winning dagger

Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers handed LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers their 13th loss of the season handed to them by on Tuesday. Going into the game the Lakers were 10-12 in the season riding on a heroic performance by Anthony Davis in past few games. However, James was facing the Cavs without Davis for the second and the last time this regular season.
The Lakers though underdogs were the favorite to win the game until Anthony Davis had to leave them with flu-like symptoms. Donovan Mitchell scored game-high 43 points for the Cavs and sealed the game in 4th quarter. Once Davis left in the 1st quarter, big man Jerret Allen came alive and scored 24 crucial points behind Mitchell.
Although not this season, the Cavaliers are in hope for another championship run in the next few seasons behind Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell scored 29 points in the first half of the game. While leading by 12 points in the 4th quarter, he hit a three-pointer, basically closing the gate for the Lakers to make a return. The Cavs star trash-talked and waved to the Lakers and told them to “Go the F**k Home.”

Garland added 21 points and 11 assists for Cleveland. James finished with 21 points and 17 rebounds, in the loss which was 3rd time in his 20 games against the Cleveland. Dennis Schroder and Russell Westbrook added 16 points apiece as Los Angeles had its four-game winning streak stopped.
Speaking to the media after the game, LeBron had high praise for Mitchell’s performance. “He’s Mitchell,” James said. “He’s a special kid.” King James had a surprise tribute video played in his respect by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not only it was surprising to many fans but also to LeBron himself. Speaking to the media James also said, “It’s always love coming back here…the memories I have here will never be forgotten.”
After the game when Donovan was asked about his special performance against the King, he candidly said, “You always want to spoil the homecoming.”
LeBron has in the past spoiled so many tribute videos, one of them being Paul Pierce’s in the Boston Celtics. “It got progressively worse as the day went on.” speaking on Anthony Davis’s health, Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “His temperature was 101 and some change. A-D wanted to try to play, but he felt too weak. He’s drained and dehydrated.”
