“That security guard was a Lakers fan”- NBA Twitter in shambles as Los Angeles Clippers superfan Clipper Darrell was knocked out by a security guard
Los Angeles Clippers superfan Clipper Darrell
After the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics, a renowned fan called Clipper Darrell and a security guard were involved in a fight. Darrell, a season ticket holder since the 2000-01 season, could be seen wearing home jerseys and cheering on the squad at home games. Following LA’s dominating 20-point win, the superfan seemed to be knocked out by a security.
Los Angeles Clippers have had a difficult 2022-23 NBA season without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. They have won some games and competed against some Western teams, but their present record isn’t promising. Meanwhile, their supporters are adjusting to missing their key players, and recently, one of their most loyal fans has also been injured and is expected to miss some games.
Clipper Darrell, a Clippers fan for about 20 years, was recently involved in a contentious incident when a security guard punched him in the face and pushed him to the ground. A video acquired by TMZ Sports shows Darrell yelling at the security guard after the latter refused to let him into a specific area of the building. When things became heated, the security guy retaliated with a powerful punch.
As it was reported, the Los Angeles Clippers‘ security was arrested and dismissed immediately. Meanwhile, Darrell was transported to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, according to Crypto.com Arena President Lee Zeidman.
The Los Angeles Clippers toppled the Celtics at Crypto.com Arena
The Clippers defeated the NBA-leading Boston Celtics 113-93 on Monday, led by Paul George’s 26 points and Kawhi Leonard’s season highs of 25 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in his finest all-around game of the season. For the first time this season, the Clippers’ defense kept the Celtics to less than 100 points.
Los Angeles used a few huge runs and strong defense to control the first half and take a 56-47 lead into halftime after a 2-2 trip to the East Coast. Marcus Morris had 13 points and Luke Kennard added 12 off the bench for the Clippers, who won their 16th game of the season.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 21 points as they lost two in a row for only the second time this season. They had won eight of their previous ten games until falling to Golden State on Saturday.
Jayson Tatum had 20 points and 11 rebounds, well below his 30-point average, and Malcolm Brogdon had 18 points off the bench.
Marcus Smart had a terrible game for the Celtics, finishing only with three points and five fouls, while Grant Williams came off the bench and had a solid game, scoring 14 points while failing to stop the Clippers’ onslaught.
