Dejounte Murray is back in the NBA headlines and once again the reason isn’t that pleasing. As the Hawks’ new superstar added another name to the list of rookies he has had beef with. As recently Dejounte Murray messed with Jabari Smith Jr. and that didn’t really age well for the Hawks’ guard. As the Rockets took things personally and handed out a BIG L to their rivals.

Recently, the Houston Rockets hosted the Atlanta Hawks at Toyota Center. And, after a closely contested and head to head game walked away with a dub at 128-122. But even Jabari Smith gets a lot of credit for the win the Rockets have recorded and advanced to 4-11. As the Hawks guard fueled up the Rockets and motivated them to win it all by disrespecting their rook Jabari Smith Jr.

In the third quarter, with seven minutes and twelve seconds remaining, Dejounte Murray drilled a three pointer while being guarded by Jabari Smith JR. And, as the shot went in and everyone’s head was turned towards the rim, including Jabari Smith’s. Dejounte Murray disrespected him by giving him a head tap as he wasn’t able to guard him.

But from that particular moment, the whole game changed and soon the Houston Rockets’ players dominated the Hawks and won it all. They also put Trae Young and Dejounte Murray in their place. Jabari Smith Jr., and Kenyon Martin Jr. both dropped 21 points each. While Jalen Green got himself 30 points. Trae Young (44 points) and Dejounte Murray (39) also combined for 83 points and sent out the best possible efforts they can. But those weren’t enough to win it all.

The head tap Dejounte Murray gave to Jabari Smith Jr. really changed the whole game. And, there was absolutely no need for Murray to do that as that’s nothing but some straight senseless disrespect. And, unfortunately, he also lacked finishing skills and ended up on the losing end. So the internet now is clowning him for his unnecessary actions which he couldn’t even back up properly. The Atlanta Hawks right now are having an average season with them maintaining an 11-8 record. They are also discussing some deals in the market to improve the team and get some veterans on board. So sleeping on them for their poor record so far is just senseless as they are very capable of changing the whole narrative around them and advancing deep into the playoffs. Also, the backcourt of Dejounte Murray and Trae Young is a deadly duo which can dominate the league for years.
