LeBron James attempts a shot over Giannis Antetokounmpo
On Friday, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo executed a huge block on Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James to send out a statement to the King. Every time they play, LeBron and Giannis, two of the most renowned NBA players ever, entertain fans with an exciting game and they surely displayed what everybody was expecting last night.
The Milwaukee Bucks vs. LA Lakers game was much greater than anyone could have ever imagined. It was generally anticipated that the early going would be close. As the game progressed, the Bucks would strengthen things, but LeBron James and Anthony Davis destroyed the NBA’s best defense, allowing Darvin Ham to gloriously come back and leave Milwaukee.
Halfway through the fourth quarter, the Lakers were up 112-110 when Antetokounmpo dribbled the ball off his foot on a Bucks possession. LeBron retrieved it and carried it across the court before completing what he believed to be a simple layup. Immediately returning to his position on the defensive end, Antetokounmpo denied the shot from behind.
Indeed sure, what appeared to be a certain LeBron basket ended up being a massive rejection by Giannis, who forced the ball down forcefully for the Bucks, and to make matters worse for the Lakers, Milwaukee was the winner of the possession after a turnover. James went and sat down on the bench after this block, and he did not reenter the game for a while.

LeBron James overtook Magic Johnson on the NBA’s career assists chart Friday night during the Lakers’ exciting 133-129 victory over the Bucks, in which Anthony Davis scored a season-high 44 points. Since taking over as Lakers coach this year after serving as an assistant with the Bucks from 2018 to 22, it was Ham’s first game in Milwaukee.
The Lakers scored the most points and held the Bucks to their lowest field goal percentage (.536) of the whole season. Additionally, Davis had 10 rebounds and has now played nine games in a row with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. Other than these two, Lonnie Walker scored 14 points off the bench for the Lakers, who are now 9-12, and Russell Westbrook added 15 points and 11 assists.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 40 points and added seven rebounds and five assists, but Los Angeles was able to hold him to that total. Additionally, the Lakers ruined Milwaukee’s Khris Middleton’s 2022–23 season debut. Middleton had 17 points and seven assists in his post–offseason wrist surgery comeback.
In the final 20 seconds, Milwaukee missed two open 3-point opportunities that could have tied the game, but Davis made the game-winning free throw with 4 seconds left. Bobby Portis added 15 points and 10 rebounds to Jrue Holiday’s 28 points for the Bucks tonight, who made 6 of 12 three-point attempts.

Even Skip Bayless was there like always to react to the block:
James really twisted his ankle two minutes before Antetokounmpo’s block, so he could have been experiencing some discomfort as he went for the basket. With the victory, the Lakers’ record in their first 21 games of the season increased to 9-12, and they are currently 3-6 away from home. The Bucks’ record presently stands at 15-6 after their first 21 games, and they are now 11-3 in their last 14 home contests.
