The Minnesota Timberwolves needed this victory over the New Orleans Pelicans after suffering a significant margin of defeat at the hands of the Phoenix Suns. The Timberwolves prevailed over the Pelicans in a close game with a score of 121–120. Karl-Anthony Towns’ buzzer basket at the last second made it possible. The Timberwolves’ core defense, which has been their strength this season, was absent for most of the game for the second straight night. But it was Karl-Anthony’s day that saved them.

The Wolves would need to outscore the Pelicans in order to defeat New Orleans. The Wolves also had 17 points and 11 rebounds from Rudy Gobert, 12 points from Jaden McDaniels, and 10 from Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

With 5.2 seconds left, Towns finished with a running shot to give the Wolves the lead. Brandon Ingram (30 points) missed the game-winning shot from 16 feet, and Jaden McDaniels offered the winning defense.
