The Phoenix Suns hosted the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. Following a period in which they dropped 12 of 14, the Phoenix Suns seemingly found their form again. At the same time Suns’ Star guard Devin Booker missed 21 of the last 22 games for Phoenix because of a groin issue. When the calendar reached a stretch where seven of eight games were at home, the Suns managed to pull themselves out of the slump that Booker’s absence caused. Once again against the Hawks, it was expected that Chris Paul would easily fend off the Hawks but the Suns were destroyed by the visitors.

On Wednesday night, Dejounte Murray had 21 points, eight assists, and six rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Phoenix Suns, who were playing at home, 132-100. In his first game back after an ankle injury that kept him out for one game, Trae Young scored 20 points and 12 rebounds. Onyeka Okongwu scored 17 points, De’Andre Hunter added 15, and Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 18.

The Hawks only won twice in the previous six games while holding leads of up to 43. Atlanta made a season-high 19 3-pointers, shooting 57.6 percent from beyond the arc (in 33 attempts). The Hawks recorded their biggest victory margin of the season while shooting an average of 57.1 percent from the field.

Chris Paul scored a measly 3 points in the 27 minutes that he played along with 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Playing in the 15th year it wasn’t expected of Paul to have such a minor contribution to his team’s efforts. Needless to say, the fans were unhappy about his performance and brutally trolled the Suns’ guard for his performance. Here are some of the finest reactions from Twitter.

For the Suns, Mikal Bridges scored 23 points, seven assists. Phoenix lost for just the second time in the previous eight games thanks in part to Deandre Ayton’s 20 points and nine rebounds. Phoenix had its worst season-long loss margin with this one.

Without Devin Booker, who continues to miss games due to a groin ailment, the Suns fell to 9-15. They shot 40.7 percent overall but only made 4 of 28 shots from beyond the arc (14.3 percent). Damion Lee scored 10 points, Dario Saric added 11, and Chris Paul only managed three on 1-of-6 shooting.
