Love him or hate him, Joel Embiid is for sure one of the most entertaining players in the league. Since arriving in the league, he has become a fan favorite among Philadelphia 76ers fans. He gets the fans involved in Philadelphia with his plays. If he can entertain fans with his plays on the court, he can also entertain them with his goofy behavior. He did the same before the game between Utah Jazz and the 76ers. Embiid got in the huddle with the Jazz dancers in the pre-game performance.
When the game was about to tip off, the Jazz dancers were performing on the court. Embiid was certainly in good mood, as he walked slowly between the dancing crew on the court. He started to move along with the music and the dancers. As the music got over and the dancers rushed out of the court, Embiid took the ball and started to dribble and show some big man move with the ball.
This is not the first time a player has crashed the opposition team dancers’ performance on the court. A few days ago Los Angeles Clippers star Ivica Zubac got in the middle of the performing dancers in Target Center in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In 2015, LeBron James and the starting Cleveland Cavaliers stood in the middle of the floor in Toronto while the cheerleaders were performing before the game. It was a sign from the Cavs that they were ready and waiting for the Toronto Raptors players to come and face them on the court.

Embiiid standing in the middle of the dancers and grooving drew mixed reactions from the fans. Some were happy and excited to see him getting mixed with the dancers, while some thought he was just trying to get attention. One of the fans wrote, “He was feeling it. Who doesn’t want backup dancers?” An annoyed fan wrote, “Just let them do their job.” Here are some more fans’ reactions from the internet.
In a neck-to-neck game, the Philadephia 76ers defeated the Utah Jazz by 118-117. James Harden and Embiid combined for 61 of Philadelphia’s 118 points. Harden scored 31 points and dropped 11 dimes in the game. He shot 11 of 19 shots from the field and 4 of 10 shots from beyond the arc. Embiid finished the game with 30 points and shot 50 percent from the field and 66 from the 3-point line. He also drilled the game-winning buzzer-beating shot. For Utah Jazz, playing without their star Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson scored game-high 39 points.
