Giannis Antetokounmpo says his game is boring after he put on a show against the Wizards

Giannis Antetokounmpo

From a thin boy from Greece, Giannis Antetokounmpo has developed into one of the most dominant players in modern basketball. Perhaps nobody is better than Giannis to hype up the sitting crowd and bring them to their feet with his thunderous dunks and ruthless blocks. He has constantly worked on his body and game with dedication, and it paid off. The 2 x MVP scored a career-high of 55 points against the Washington Wizards

The Milwaukee Bucks and the Wizards played back-to-back games together. Earlier on Sunday, the Wizards beat the Bucks, who were playing without their stars. Giannis came into the game with a purpose and perhaps wanted to avenge the loss that Washington had inflicted upon them. He sure did make them pay, as he blasted the arena with his dunks and midrange shots.

Giannis’ previous career high was 52 points, which he had scored against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers on March 17, 2019. Since then he has exponentially changed his game and now has included mid-range in his shot selections. In his 55-point game, Antetokounmpo made 20 of 33 shots from the field. He was only 2 points shy of the franchise record 57 points by Michael Redd in November 2006.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been willing Bucks into the games despite missing his star player

After having a monster performance against the Wizards the former MVP spoke to the press. Giannis said that his game doesn’t make noise in the league because it has become a routine for them. “I just do what I do and people don’t talk about it because it becomes boring. I do it every single night. That’s what I want to do. I want other people to feel like my game is boring. But I don’t get bored,” said the Greek Freak

He also added that greatness requires him to give his best on the court every night. “The greats…the best players…never get bored. They go out there and they always give their best any given night,” Giannis said. Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer had some nice words for his star player. “He’s been kind of playing with this kind of determination, this kind of just willing us in games,Budenholzer said. “He’s just been phenomenal.”

Giannis has already secured his legacy with the Milwaukee Bucks and perhaps his place in the Hall of Fame. However, there are things about the Greek Freak that make him stand alone in his own category. Giannis never came built in the league, but he put on muscle because he knew it was the only way to survive in the league. He has consistently worked on his game, learning new skills and improving different facets of his game. He is going to get better as he continues to elevate his game.
