The situation between Jonathan Kuminga and Jordan Clarkson got heated on Wednesday night in the Warriors vs Utah Jazz game. The incident took place in the last seconds of the dramatic 4th quarter. Both players exchanged shoves and heated words while the officials and the team players tried to separate them.

With 28 seconds remaining on the clock in the 4th quarter, the Jazz has 2 points deficit to the Warriors. Clarkson in need of the time drove to the basket and tried to drop a floater over tall Jonathan Kuminga. However, the Warrior young star stayed with JC and blocked his shot. As Kuminga grabbed the ball, Clarkson wrapped him in order to deny any fastbreak point.

What followed was a heated exchange and shoving between two players and both were ready to even square up against each other. The refs and the players tried to calm both the players down, as they had to be separated. After the game, both Kuminga and Clarkson tried to give their side of the story. “I didn’t have no intention to do anything,” Kuminga said after the game. “It was just funny to the point where I saw him square up right away…It was just funny just seeing that… I didn’t say nothing. I didn’t do nothing,” he added.

Jordan Clarkson also told his side in the postgame press conference and said that his foul wasn’t intended and was trying to hold Kuminga up. He said, “I tried to hold him up,” Clarkson said. “I tried to hold him. That was it. But hey, the refs call what they call. They see what they see,” he again remarked. Clarkson was slapped with flagrant 2, which got him ejected from the game.

Alluding to the incident against the Portland Trail Blazers, Clarkson jokingly said it is a good week for the NBA, and he thought they are going to fine him again. “Its been a good week for the NBA for them in terms of me giving the money,” said candid Clarkson. “I will probably get a fine for tonight too…for flagrant and maybe for ejection,” he added.

Clarkson was fined a sum of $15,000 for throwing his headband into the stand. Although the headband didn’t hit any fans in the stands, he was fined for showing aggressive behavior on the court. D’Angelo Russell was also fined $20,000 the same day for using inappropriate language at the officials.

Despite having a two-point lead at 28 seconds remaining on the clock when the Clarkson-Kuminga incident happened, the Warriors couldn’t capitalize. Kuminga only made 1 of two free throws and finally, in the crucial moment Klay Thompson turned the ball over in their next possession. What followed was just hard to watch for the Warriors fans. Utah scored 5 of the next 7 points of the game to seal the victory 124-123. Clarkson finished the game with 22 points in 37 minutes.
