LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings in a thrilling game by 136-134. It was a team effort from the Lakers as multiple players showed up big in the game. The Lakers have not lost a single game in 2023. Former Boston Celtics star and NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins was all appreciative of the Lakers after their fifth consecutive win.
After the win, Pekins wrote in his Tweet that the Lakers are serious about the new year and it was clear after their impressive win. “The 2023 Lakers ain’t playing no damn games I see. This was a very impressive win in Sacramento tonight on a back to back,” Perkins said. Perhaps the NBA analyst was alluding to the Lakers’ closeout in the last seconds of the game, which has been a constant problem for them.
Perkins also added that Los Angeles Lakers has been playing like a good team and has been playing excellent basketball in the new year. “One could argue that over the last 5 games they have been playing some of the best basketball in the league! Carry the hell on,” Perkins said. In absence of Anthony Davis the Lakers were expected to lose most of the games despite James being in the lineup. However, they have come strong in these back-to-back games.

Dennis Schroder who has been playing excellently in the past few games came big again and scored 27 points. Russell Westbrook scored 23 points and dropped 15 dimes for the team.
LeBron came big again and had another 30-point game. He scored 37 points in 37 minutes. He also had 7 assists and 8 rebounds in the game. In the last 5 games, the 4 x NBA champion has been averaging 35.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.6 assists.
One of the biggest stars for the Lakers in the game apart from LeBron was Thomas Bryant. The big man is having arguably the best season of his career. He had 29 points and 14 massive rebounds. After the win, Bryant said the win speaks about their resilience as a team and their hunger for winning the basketball games. “It says a lot about the confidence,” Bryant said. “Strong resiliency that we try and bring each and every night out. I know each and every last one of those guys are proud of each other out there.” he added.
