“How much time is he going to waste?” Kendrick Perkins urges Kevin Durant to move from from Kyrie Irving’s fling
Kevin Durant has one of the best resumes in the entire league and might possibly be top 10 to have ever stepped on the NBA court. As he enters his 16th season in the league, the player now has two championships to name and is looking forward to winning a couple more before he folds the curtains. But will the Brooklyn Nets be the team to help him get their?
Recently, the Nets have encountered a massive issue surrounding Kyrie Irving and his future with them. The player has proven that he is highly unreliable which stands between the organization offering him a four-extension or releasing him. But if they decide to let him go, then they will risk losing KD as well since he joined with the intension of winning a title with Irving.
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving do not have a the best relationship
Nick Friedell revealed to SportsCenter, “At every turn publicly, (Kevin Durant) has been there to support (Kyrie Irving), to say we need Kyrie, to say Kyrie can win a title with me here in Brooklyn. But I can tell you, I’ve been talking to people in the organization the last couple of weeks, when they finally sit down and talk to Kevin throughout the summer, they are trying to figure out if Kevin saw what everybody else saw.”
“The reason that whole season got sidetracked was because they couldn’t count on Kyrie, and they didn’t know if he was going to be out there. And the issue with Kevin is, he wants to win badly, he wants to be loyal to his friend. But I’ve been talk that relationship, while very close, isn’t always as close as it appears to be,” he said. Considering that Kevin Durant has often held internal grudges, this might possibly be true as well.
Kendrick Perkins believes Kevin Durant should move on from Kyrie Irving
Kendrick Perkins spoke about Kevin Durant possibly spending too much time waiting for his teammate to make up his mind and play. “As much as Kevin Durant is scratching and having Kyrie Irving’s back when the hell is he gonna return the favor? Stop putting KD in these uncompromising situations bro because it’s unfair. “
“And if you’re KD, at what point are you gonna get tired?… How much time does KD really have to continue to waste his valuable years waiting on Kyrie Irving? You can’t get this life back!” said Perk. Durant will have to face the consequences of the decisions he has taken to come to this point. He left his former to help lead a team to a championship and add on to his legacy but Irving may be the obstacle rather than an asset.
