Kendrick and the Warriors Big 3

The Golden State Warriors have solidified their position as a Championship contending team after the league has been introduced to their ‘death line-up’. The offensive power of Warriors’ is very formidable with Jordan Poole joining the 3-point splash party of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The Warriors’ however fell short in grabbing a second win of the series in Game 2, with the Memphis Grizzlies winning on the occasions 106-101.

They are favorites to advance to the Western Conference finals over Memphis, but it would not be an easy task to get past the grit and tenacity of the Grizzlies youngsters who are being led by the reigning MIP, Ja Morant. While the series is tied at 1-1 heading to the Bay Area for Game 3 and 4, the Warriors seem to have an upper-hand. They have more playoff experience, a better team all-round team and the home court advantage. The Warriors are know to be lethal on their home court. This regular season, they had the best home-record in the entire league and have a 100% win record in the playoffs too this year.

According to Kendrick Perkins, the current Big 3 and their abilities as a trio are questionable. Kendrick expressed his appreciation and respect from Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole trio. But he believes that, had he been in the Warriors’ administration, he would let go of Klay to allow Jordan Poole become the future of the franchise.

“Hell, yeah! Yes, they should. If I’m the Golden State Warriors and I’m looking at a young star on the rise in Jordan Poole and I’m looking at Klay Thompson,” Green stated. “This is no knock on Klay Thompson. But at some point, you’re gonna have to let Jordan Poole be the best he can be right now. But at some point, you’ve got to move forward and start to build. … At some point, every good thing have to come to an end” , said Kendrick

While Kendrick might not be wrong in his analysis of Jordan Poole overshadowing Klay Thompson, he is wrong when it comes to his timing of the statement. Jordan Poole has incredible talent but he is young. He still needs to grow into the team and start showing signs of whether he can be a part of the Splash Brothers or create a new Splash duo with Stephen Curry.
