Luka Doncic has become an international sensation in the basketball world and Kevin Durant is considered one of the most prolific’s scorers in NBA history. His mid-range jumper is beyond-the-arc three-point shooting he is finishing at the rim everything is just a testament to his greatness. In a recent interview, Durant talked about the NBA sensation Luka Dončić and his rise to the prominence of Basketball. Durant admitted that he did not like Luka’s game in the beginning.

When Kevin Durant was asked about Luka’s game, he admitted that he did not like Luka’s game initially. He said, “At first, I didn’t, when he first came into the league because I’m like all he does is stepback threes and they be short as hell. He’s shooting like 27%-30% from the three-point line early on. I’m like this is the guy?

Durant further admitted, “playing against someone I think they beat us by 40 when I was with Golden State and he was controlling every possession and I was like, ‘Yeah he nice.’ His game just start expanding.” Luka likes to play games at his own pace and also controls the pace of the game overall. Doncic is extremely versatile and can beat the defender at any position to either score the ball or find his teammate.

The Slim Reaper also talked about Luka’s style of playing the game. He said, “He plays so slow… it’s hard because he goes from slow to fast so easily and he just so smooth with it. I love his game.” Luka also has mastered switching speeds in order to beat the defenders and leave them on an island. He is as efficient as his shot-making in distributing and dropping some jaw-dropping dimes in the game. 

Doncic averaged 21.2 points 7.8 rebounds and six assists in his rookie year which eventually won him the rookie of the year award. Since then he has gone on to become the primary decision-maker for the team. He has made the All NBA First-team in each of the last three seasons. Luka Doncic is averaging 34.3 points and dropping 8.1 per game helping his team sail through early struggles. Doncic is also among the leaders in the regular MVP race this season.
