Before the season started Kyrie Irving signed a limited one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets. Despite the fact that Irving wanted a bigger and max-extension deal with the Nets, the team didn’t want to extend the courtesy in light of his recurring unavailability. Being in the last year of his deal, the All-Star player is expected to reach an extension deal. If not, he is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2022-23 season. Once he becomes the free agent he is set to set the market on fire, while he generates interest in the market. The 7 x All-Star is eligible for roughly a $200 million max extension.
