Luka Doncic
Luka Doncic just showcase why he has the potential to become one of the best-ever in NBA as he registers himself in the history books after phenomenal performance against the New York Knicks. In a OT victory over the Eastern Conference team, Doncic led his Dallas Mavericks to victory with an absurd triple-double – 61 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists in. Afterward, he played it cool and said he needed a ‘recovery beer’
We are all aware of Luka’s greatness at this point, what he has just done is truly historical. Doncic has said before that it is easier to put up numbers in the NBA than in the FIBA game, but he has just done what no one has ever done, not even Wilt Chamberlain. A 60-20-10 TD is unheard of. Here is Luka speaking postgame about his game.
Of course, the wild box score wasn’t enough. Luka also hit the buzzer-beater to send the game into overtime. With the Mavericks down 2, he intentionally missed the free throw and in the resulting scramble, grabbed the ball and shot it in one motion.

Just to reiterate and add to the significance of Luka’s performance, here are a few other things he achieved:
And these are just from a personal standpoint. He also willed the Dallas Mavericks to a miracle comeback.
ESPN’s Tim MacMahon tweeted the following, “NBA teams were 0-13,884 in the last 20 seasons when trailing by at least nine with 35 or fewer seconds remaining, per @ESPNStatsInfo.”
A truly great night put on by a truly great player. Here’s to hoping we see a lot more of such ‘Luka Magic’ in the coming years.
That being said, this electrifying 23-year-old superstar had his seventh triple-double of the season. Ensuring that the Mavericks register their fourth consecutive victory, now being 3 wins over .500 mark.
