Richard Jefferson is back in the NBA headlines as he criticized Kyrie Irving, a former teammate of his while broadcasting the Nets game against the Indiana Pacers on YES Broadcast. Just like the basketball world, even he’s disappointed with Kyrie Irving. As the talented guard recently promoted an antisemitic film and book on his social media accounts. And, since then many are upset with him but he’s defending himself and the controversial tweet of his as he believes he hasn’t done anything wrong.
Kyrie Irving on his social media handles shared a movie called, “Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America.” This has hurt many feelings across the globe as it’s an antisemitic film. Even the Brooklyn Nets owner, Joe Tsai has shown out his disappointment against Uncle Drew. But Kyrie isn’t riding with any of that as he believes the “Anti-Semitic” label being pushed on him is not justified.
Kyrie Irving also defended himself during the post-game interview and got into a heated verbal exchange with a reporter too. He’s throwing out reasons for not being antisemitic and is taking all the possible efforts to clean the dirt off his name. But Richard Jefferson ain’t letting it slide and called out Uncle Drew for his wrong actions which are hurting millions out there.
In the first quarter with around four minutes remaining on the clock. Richard Jefferson called out Kyrie Irving for promoting an antisemitic film and sharing a clip of Alex Jones. As he was broadcasting the game. And, while doing so he quoted: “You know it’s tough because it’s disappointing, Kyrie says he’s not antisemitic and these things.”
Further, Richard Jefferson added: “But the tweet is still up. The tweet is still up there. He earlier in the summer posted Alex Jones… You have to understand how you use your social media… You are endorsing them and giving your platform of people. And, it’s millions upon millions of followers and endorsements. You are saying look at this individual or look at this movie and so those things have effects and people need to understand that.”

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are making all possible efforts to get the Nets going and win some games. As at the moment, they are 1-5 and even the fans have given up on them. As Kyrie Irving being a “Free-Thinker” has hurt a lot of people around and is also not apologizing or taking those actions down. But is backing those up. The situation he’s stuck in right now is very wrong, especially when the team is down and needs him.
But fortunately, the locker room energy is good and the players still believe in each other. Also if the Big Three of Ben Simmons, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are able to build a solid chemistry and pick up a rhythm. And, Simmons is able to step up and back the other two. They’ll still have a shot at the championship this year. As not many teams in the league are capable of stopping them if they are working as a unit and are in good form.
