Shannon Sharpe has expressed regret for his contentious behavior during the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers game on Friday. In his on-air apology during Monday morning’s Undisputed broadcast, Sharpe addressed several individuals.

In his lengthy apology, Shannon Sharpe named a number of athletes, including LeBron James of the Lakers, Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant of the Grizzlies. Sharpe deserves credit for owning up to his fault. As these days not many celebrities hand out an apology after messing up.

“As you have probably heard or seen Friday night at the Lakers game, I want to apologize for my behavior,” Sharpe said. “As I’ve preached for the last 6 1/2 years, responsibility and accountability. And I take full responsibility for what transpired. It does not matter what Dillon Brooks said or how many times he said it.

Further, the former NFL star added: “I want to apologize to a few people. First of all, I want to apologize to the Lakers organization. To Jeannie Buss and the Buss family, I apologize for any harm or unwanted attention that I brought to your organization. I want to apologize to the Memphis Grizzlies organization and fans,” Shannon Sharpe apologized to both organizations.

He further went on to praise Ja Morant “Ja, it was a privilege and an honor to watch you up close and personal. Skip [Bayless] and I talk about you a lot of times, but to see what you do … and I want to apologize to you.”

“I also want to apologize to LeBron James, because you all know how I feel about him, and he’s supported me through thick and thin. Bruh, I’m sorry I put you in this situation that you had to support me in something like this.” Shannon Sharpe said directed to LeBron James. As King James had to come out in his support after the heated altercation during Lakers-Grizzlies showdown.

He concluded by saying, “I am never going to be too big to say I am sorry. I am never going to be too big to say that I was wrong. And in that situation, I was absolutely wrong. … I am not perfect, I am not, and I never going to say that was not Shannon Sharpe because that was me. That was just me getting out of character,”

Thomas Bryant finished with 31 points and 14 rebounds, capping the victory with two huge dunks in the endgame. Lebron James contributed with another legendary performance and scored 37 points, and Dennis Schroder also got 24 points for the Lakers.
