Rudy Gobert is back in the NBA headlines and the reason again isn’t pleasing and is very unwanted. As on the other end is Shaquille O’Neal calling him out for not being the guy he is supposed to be. In the offseason, the Big Frenchman got shipped to the Minnesota Timberwolves from the Utah Jazz, and the trade which was supposed to destroy the league now looks like a bad deal. As many Wolves’ fans and even some of the players aren’t liking the addition of Rudy Gobert.

The Minnesota Timberwolves fans though are so disappointed that they have started booing their own team for not living up to the expectations. Rudy Gobert though didn’t like this act from fans in the arena and wanted them to stay home. As he addressed the backlash and booing from the fans during a post-game interview after the game against Miami Heat.

Rudy Gobert said: “When you’re a fan, you gotta support your team in the tough or the good moments. There’s no team in NBA history that only had good moments, so if you’re not going to support us in the tough moments, just stay home.” Shaquille O’Neal though isn’t a fan of Rudy’s response as he believes, the big man is getting booed for not performing well and up to standards.

Shaquille O’Neal called out Rudy Gobert to be the guy on the floor and get the job done instead of going out on social media and addressing the boos. Shaq also mentioned how he got booed for not playing well. Further, he went on to call Rudy Gobert a teenage kid and told him to give the people something to cheer about if they are booing.

Further, Shaquille O’Neal on his podcast, “The Big Podcast with Shaq” said: “Stop taking your phone and writing to whoever’s writing stuff in space. Why don’t you get out there and just play? There you go. I’ve been booed before. You know that. You’re the biggest guy there, and you ain’t doing let’s go!… Get 25 rebounds, get nine blocks. Stop letting people dunk on you. Put somebody on your a** about that instead of crying to the fans.”

Shaquille O’Neal isn’t wrong as Rudy Gobert really has to step up for the team and be the guy they were hyped about. With Karl Anthony Towns being out for the next 6-8 weeks, the former DPOY really has to keep going and play some winning basketball, or else it’s nothing but another terrible season for the Wolves and they probably won’t even make it to the playoffs. As of now, the Timberwolves are ranked in the 11th spot with an 11-12 record.
