“I’m concerned about both” Steve Kerr calls out Draymond Green while condemning video leak
Draymond Green and Steve Kerr
Steve Kerr is worried about the next 2022-23 season, not only because of Draymond Green‘s behaviour, but also because of an inside breach that gave the film to TMZ. Steve Kerr is having a difficult week. After dealing with a confrontation in practise between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole, the Warriors and Kerr felt they could move on to rebuilding the friendship between the rotating players. However, a video of the event was released to TMZ, putting the Warriors at the centre of the controversy.
All the Warriors had to worry about was reuniting Draymond and Poole, but the video leak has made that process much more difficult. Steve Kerr said “I’m concerned about both. They’re both a problem. The incident was a problem, the leak was a problem. I don’t rank these things. My job as a coach is to prepare us to play and make sure we can put the best team on the floor as possible. That job requires a ton of navigation and it’s very tricky.
It’s made much trickier when there is a leak because everything is out in the open. The job is to handle everything behind the scenes with conversations and then when it’s out in the open, answering questions like this one. But we are going to get through all of this and we’re going to be OK. They both concern me.”
Steve Kerr sheds light on Draymond Green’s return
With all that has transpired in the last few days, it is reasonable to ask if Draymond Green will be on the floor when the Warriors meet the Lakers on the 18th. What would be even more intriguing is how the supporters will react to him if that happens. Indeed, commissioner Adam Silver will be there to present the victors with their rings, as is customary. Will Green and Jordan Poole be in the same line to get their money?
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated during Monday’s practise that there is still “no clarity” on when Draymond Green would return to the club. Kerr also stated that he is concerned not just about the Green and Poole confrontation, but also about the fact that a video of it has been distributed to the public. It seems to assume that if the video had not gone viral, there may have been little to no coverage of the event, other than maybe a notification of disciplinary measures taken against Green.
