WATCH: How Ja Morant is not able to walk-his-talk against Malik Monk, Kings

Ja Morant and Malik Monk

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies fell to the Sacramento Kings onslaught as the Kings registered their 7th straight win of the season at the FedEx Forum. Morant returned to the lineup just missing one game after he had injured his ankle against OKC. Ja is a fierce competitor and does not shy away from getting into the faces and minds of his opponents. Morant tried doing the same to former Laker star Malik Monk, did Ja not only fail but much to his embarrassment his own talk but him in the end.

The game between the Kings and the Grizzlies became a close match between two of the top teams in the NBA with similar records before their game. With Kings leading 109-108 and 3.9 seconds remaining on the clock, Malik Monk came to the charity line to shoot two free throws, to increase their lead up to 3 points.

As Monk moved to the free throws line to make his free throws, Grizzlies star Ja Morant came from Malik’s behind and told him not to miss them. Monk is tough-headed and perhaps was so determined to make the free throws that Ja’s trash-talking didn’t even mean anything to the King’s star. Monk made both free throws and gave the Kings a 3 points lead, which became crucial in their win against the Grizzlies.

However, Morant could not walk his own talk when it was critical, as he stood on the free throws line. With the score being 111-108 between the Kings and the Grizzlies Morant found himself standing on the free throws line. To his embarrassment, Morat missed the first free throw which eventually resulted in Kings taking a 4-point lead.

Ja Morant thinks he is a cyborg as he returns from the ankle injury

Ja Morant

Ja Morant returned to the Grizzlies lineup after sitting out for only one game. What looked like a scary injury during the Grizzlies’ match against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Ja left everyone stunned when he came back only after 1 game. Ja Morant’s athleticism is already out of this world and many analysts have tried warning Morant not to be so aggressive on the court since he is too special to miss games in case an injury occurs. However, Morant has not paid attention to the concerns and continues to display jaw-dropping athleticism.

Morant had to be carried to the locker room in the 4th quarter after he injured his ankle. When asked about how he could return to the lineup so soon, Morant candidly replied, “A cyborg. I’m just a unique dude, man. I don’t think I’m human. I got to do some lab testing….I have a drug test right after this.

The Grizzlies were also without their other star player Desmond Bane. The Memphis Grizzlies are in the 9th spot in the Western Conference behind the Dallas Mavericks.
