Watch Stephen A. Smith LOSE HIS MIND as Aaron Gordon calls Jimmy Butler harder to guard than LeBron James and Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Jimmy Butler and Stephen A. Smith
Stephen A. Smith is ruling the NBA headlines and the reason is his reaction to a recent statement made by Aaron Gordon. The NBA Finals showdown will start in some hours and like every year players from both teams are once again very active with their voices on media. But this time it’s not a jab, call out, or critical take which has Stephen A. Smith acting up. Instead, it is Aaron Gordon giving Jimmy Butler some flowers for the post-season run he’s having.
The Miami Heat will soon be taking on the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals. It’s going to be a complete showdown as Jimmy Butler will go against Nikola Jokic. But right now, the lights point at Aaron Gordon. As discussing the match-up he’s up against he brought LeBron James and Kevin Durant to the conversation. Aaron Gordon was recently, asked about facing Jimmy Butler in the 2023 NBA Finals.
Answering to that question, Aaron Gordon quoted: “Jimmy is a different cover for different reasons than the guys I’ve guarded in the past like LeBron and KD.” The following statement was discussed at ESPN’s, “First Take” and former NBA player Jay Williams even defended the words claiming Jimmy Butler to be harder to guard than LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
But Stephen A. Smith wasn’t even a fan of Aaron Gordon’s take and thrashed it out. Stephen A. Smith started his take by mocking the situation he was in while reacting to it and by showing he believes it was done to mess with him as it was a shot at him. Further, Smith quoted: “Jimmy Butler is great, I am throwing no shades against Jimmy Butler. But harder to guard than Kevin Durant, one of the most prolific scorers the game has ever seen.”
Further, Stephen A. Smith added: “Harder to guard than 6”9’ and 260 pounds LeBron James who can take you inside and outside… The point that I am trying to make is, I love Jimmy Butler… The brother is special no doubt about it top-5 in the postseason. Harder to guard than LeBron James and Kevin Durant you all need to stop!”

Is Stephen A. Smith right in denying Jimmy Butler to be harder to guard than LeBron James and Kevin Durant?
Stephen A. Smith is undoubtedly right in denying Jimmy Butler is harder to guard than LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Jimmy Butler undoubtedly has a deep bag of skills and this season he’s been on a complete showdown of his skills. He’s also great on the defensive end and has had a better spreadsheet than LeBron James and Kevin Durant with some undrafted players this postseason. He also deserves all those nicknames like Himmy Buckets, Playoff Jimmy, and Himmy Butler.
But with respect to one run claiming him to be better than the players who many claim to be the GOAT of the game and some of the best ever doesn’t make any sense.
Jimmy Butler deserves all that respect but while giving him his flowers disrespecting KD and Bron isn’t right. He’s been a better player than both of them this post-season but that doesn’t take away any of their greatness. So Stephen A. Smith did the right thing by denying him to be harder to guard.
