Lebron James fired back at Sam Amick, the Athletic reporter for twisting his words and painting a bad picture of him in the media. Apparently, Sam posted a tweet on his handle about James’ frustration amidst the Los Angeles Lakers‘ 4-game losing streak. The 4 x MVP called out the reporter for making him sound frustrated and questioning his patience.

The Athletic’s reporter Sam Amick Tweeted on Sunday that James “made it clear that his patience is waning.” He wrote, “LeBron James to @TheAthletic on the Lakers’ roster plans: “Y’all know what the f*** should be happening.” Apparently, James said this while he was leaving the podium. Sam reported that 18 x All-Star was not happy with the organization’s reluctance to trade their future first-round pick from 2027 and 2029.

James took Twitter to slam the reporter and called him out for making him sound like he was frustrated. “Hey Sam actually my patience isn’t waning. You make it sound like I’m frustrated when I’m really not,” wrote the Lakers star. Bron also added that he made it clear during the interview that his focus was on the guys in the locker room. “I told you over and over, my job is focused on the guys in the locker room, my job isn’t the roster. That’s the reality of that conversation,” James added.

LeBron also did not forget to remind Amick and the others that he was in a good mood as the Lakers are now on a 5-game winning streak. “I said what I said with the Upmost respect and calmness cause that’s the mood I’m in! Your welcome! 5 game winning streak,” said James

Previously, when Amick asked James about his patience level amidst the 4-game losing streak, the 4 x NBA champion said that the people in the organization are doing what they think is best for the organization. “They’re doing what they feel is best for the franchise,” James told Amick. He was speaking about Rob Pelinka, who is the president of the basketball operation for the Lakers, and governor Jeanie Buss.

James further added that his job is to play the game at his best level and worry about the guys who are with him in the locker room. “Man, listen, I play the game,” he added in the interview. “I worry about who’s in the locker room,” LeBron said. “I can’t—it’s not my…it’s not my job...can’t do nobody else’s job,” he added. Since then the Lakers have been performing like they are one of the top teams in the league.

However, starting the season with a 2-9 record, the Lakers have come a long way, for good. They are 19-21 in the Western Conference after their 40 games so far and are only 1 win behind the 6th-seed Golden State Warriors. Moreover, players apart from LeBron and Russell Westbrook, have elevated their game and have been performing at their best level. Dennis Schroder has been playing well, and Thomas Bryant has become the perfect replacement for injured Anthony Davis with his dominance on both sides of the floor. He is rebounding the ball and definitely brings his best against the opponent’s glass.
