Michael Jordan
It certainly becomes really difficult to fathom the greatness of Michael Jordan. He was accustomed to winning and never-ever lost an NBA Finals. He is 6-0 in his NBA and that makes him the undisputed GOAT in many people’s minds. An interview that Stuart Scott took of Jordan during his last NBA Finals has resurfaced on the internet. The Chicago Bulls legend is seen talking about the condition of basketball in the post-Jordan era. Mike expressed his faith that the game would survive without Michael Jordan playing basketball.
When Scott told Jordan that people have been saying that the game is going to go down without him playing in NBA, Jordan denied the possibility. According to Michael, too much money and too many dreams have been invested in it to be broken down. “It’s gonna survive. There is too much money invested it’s too many dreams of young kids trying to be professional basketball players. So the interest is always gonna be there,” said the Black Jesus.
The 6 x NBA champion also said that in order to maintain the interest and aesthetics of the game, it is necessary to slice things up. According to him, sometimes curtailing things from within the game helps it maintain its credibility. “Certainly you have to curtail certain things within the game to maintain the beauty of the game, or the credibility of the game,”, said 5 x MVP Jordan. Perhaps, Mike was talking about his dominance and the inability of opponents to win in his presence on the court.

Michael Jordan says the NBA basketball is too old to be broken down

It was a genuine and reasonable fear among the NBA fans that NBA would cease to be interesting because the Bulls star wouldn’t be playing in it. Obviously, they were wrong, but kind of game Mike played, with ruthless competitiveness and unprecedented dominance, the concern was obvious. Jordan, however, reminded Stuart that basketball has survived since Bill Russell’s time. He said, “The game is always gonna be the game, because it’s been here a lot longer than Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Bill Russell…”
Michael was right in his analysis, as later players like Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James came to the league’s prominence and carried the game forward. These players engaged and brought back the basketball fever in fans. “The game has been here too long for it to be erased because one individual’s leaving the game,” said Jordan. Perhaps, when LeBron hangs his shoes, there will be other players to fill his void in the league.
