The 2008 Finals MVP and former ESPN analyst Paul Pierce fired a series of tweets after Anthony Davis‘ 55-point outburst against the Wizards on Sunday night, powering the Lakers to a 130-119 win on the road. Pierce showered his praise for the big man amidst his recent run of spectacular performances.
Paul Pierce posted multiple tweets after the game to show his appreciation for this legendary performance. He tweeted, “This is the Version of Anthony Davis everyone was waiting to see. His ability says he’s capable of it, but we all questioned his mentality. Yo AD ain’t no going back now blood. KG mentality rest of season, if so Lakers easily a playoff Team also hope u stay healthy.”
He further tweeted, “#TruthisTruth Truth sound like hate when everyone hate the Truth” and “All I’m hearing is crickets right now. Nobody got anything to say about last night.” Referring to the Lakers-Wizards game. He did this to slam Davis’ doubters who were clowning him during his various injury layoffs. Now, finally healthy, he is living up to his potential and playing his best Basketball in a Laker jersey.

Anthony Davis has put himself in the MVP conversation after his consistent run of incredible performances

Anthony Davis scored 55 points to go along with 17 rebounds and 3 blocks, extending the Lakers‘ win streak to 3 and going 8-2 in their last 10. AD has silenced all of his naysayers by playing at an MVP level in the last 10 games whilst pushing the Lakers’ record to only 2 games below .500.
He has the carried the major offensive load and has also been the team’s top defender during this stretch of games. He will have to continue this dominant play for them to even have a chance at making the playoffs this season. Their schedule isn’t getting any easier especially with LeBron James approaching his 38th birthday this month. It’ll be to be up to AD and the others to pick up the slack and take this team to where it desires to be.
Anthony Davis is a part of an elite club of lakers big men which includes Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Both of whom won at least 3 championships to go along with multiple Finals MVPs. It may be harsh, but if the 2017 All-Star Game MVP wants to remembered as an all-time Laker legend, he’ll have to live up to the standards set by them and continue producing at this all-time level for the foreseeable future.
