“You are blocked because you acted like a clown”: Derek Carr has a special message for the ones who spread negativity on social media

Derek Carr has become a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. He played college football at Fresno State where he impressed one and all with his performances. In fact, he received first-team All-MWC honors on two occasions. It was just a matter of time before a top NFL franchise roped him in.

Finally, he was selected by the Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In the 2021 season, Carr played an instrumental role in guiding the Raiders to the playoffs. Although their journey was halted in the Wild Card Round by the mighty Bengals, one has to say that the Raiders had a good season.

However, Carr seems to be unimpressed with some of the people on his social media handle. Recently, he took to Twitter to call out the people who he has blocked on social media for their terrible behavior. “Since some of y’all are sensitive I will remind you that I only want people who encourage, speak life into me & uplift me to have a voice in my life,” he wrote.

So if you’re blocked you probably acted like a clown for clout. I still love you all, but I don’t have time for your negativity,” he wrote. It is clear that the star player wants to keep himself around positive people to stay in the right frame of mind.

Social media is a great way to connect with your favorite players. However, at the same time, it is a well-known fact that sometimes fans go way overboard while criticizing players. In the day and age where the conversation around mental health is gaining more prominence, Carr’s words must be looked at from a positive perspective as he is not defaming the ones who don’t agree with him but is just ensuring he keeps away from their negativity.
