On March 23, 2023, Las Vegas Aces‘ owner Mark Davis announced that 7x Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is acquiring a partial stake in the WNBA team. Brady has grown up watching his older sisters play sports and this is the origin of his love for women’s sports. “I am very excited to be part of the Las Vegas Aces organization,” said Brady in a statement on Thursday. “I have always been a huge fan of women’s sports, and I admire the work that the Aces’ players, staff, and the WNBA continue to do to grow the sport and empower future generations of athletes. To be able to contribute in any way to that mission as a member of the Aces organization is an incredible honor.”

Tom Brady’s acquisition of the team is subject to approval from WNBA. Mark Davis brought the team in 2021 and in just one year under his ownership, the Aces won the 2022 WNBA finals. With Brady entering the franchise in an ownership role, Davis believes that this is a huge boost for women’s sports as a whole. Just as he made the NFL world-renowned by being the face of it, Brady can increase the viewership for the WNBA and bring a new wave of popularity to the sport.

The exact percentage of ownership of Tom Brady and the amount for which he purchased will be made public once the WNBA approves the acquisition. So yes, Brady is indeed a partial owner of the WNBA team Las Vegas Aces.
