Aaron Rodgers in a New York Jets uniform may take some time to get used to. After teams across the NFL commenced organized team activities, or OTAs, all eyes were on the former Green Bay Packers quarterback who took the field without his helmet, and before even beginning to get reps in as the quarterback of the team, he appeared to face some issues with his leg, which sent chills down the spines of fans.
Aaron Rodgers was not walking normally, he appeared to be limping as his right leg was causing him some discomfort. Was it his ankle? Was it his knee? Was it his calf? Those were the thoughts running through the mind of every fan watching from New York. Just when the fans of the New York Jets franchise thought they had put their days of playing terribly behind them, had father time showing up at the worst possible time to punish Rodgers?
Well, as per the Jets, it was nothing serious. Aaron was dealing with a minor strain in his calf. Rodgers elaborated upon this situation after practice ended. “I just tweaked my calf in the little pre-practice conditioning and decided to take a vet day.” Hopefully, there are more playing days for him than vet days ahead.
Aaron Rodgers sustained a minor calf strain
Aaron Rodgers may have injured his calf while running, he was seen attempting to relieve his calf by stretching it after he did some lunges with a medicine ball in his hand. Of course, it was a relief to know that this was nothing serious as there is nothing more fans want than to see how far Rodgers can help take this Jets team this year.
While his injury did attract a lot of attention, made the hearts of many fans skip a beat, and of course, attract the inevitable memes featuring Zach Wilson who will get his starting position back if Aaron sits out, fans on Twitter had a lot to say about this.
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:
Said nobody ever…
Nothing that some solitude and ayahuasca cannot heal.
Should have considered editing Zach Wilson’s face onto the road because Aaron Rodgers did crush that dude’s dream after all.
It’s nothing serious, he’ll be good to go when the season rolls around.
Aaron Rodgers should be just fine. He’s 39 years old, clearly, time is not on his side so it is normal for such minor injuries to occur. Besides, there is plenty of time before the NFL season begins, which means Aaron Rodgers can ease his way back into the gruesome schedule that is demanded of him.
