The cat is finally out of the bag as Aaron Rodgers finally opened up his mind about the biggest question of the ongoing offseason in the NFL. After huge amount of speculation, regarding the quarterback’s future, we can now confirm that he will play football next season and do so for the New York Jets.

This effectively means that the quarterback will move away from the Green Bay Packers, a franchise with which he has been associated since 2005.

Rodgers made his decision public on the latest episode of the Pat McAfee Show. The 39-year-old’s future was the topic of huge debate ever since he did not commit himself to the Packers after the end of the 2022/23 NFL season.

Rodgers went into a four-day darkness retreat few weeks back to get more clarity about his thought process and his body’s tenacity, and that solace seems to have helped him make an informed decision. Speaking on the Pat McAfee show, Rodgers said that his move to the Jets is only being delayed by the Packers waiting for a good compensation package for the quarterback.

“I made it clear my intention was to play and my intention was to play for the New York Jets,” Rodgers said.“And I haven’t been holding anything up at this point. It’s been compensation that the Packers are trying to get for me.”

‘” haven’t been holding anything up at this point,” Rodgers said.“It’s been compensation that the Packers are trying to get for me, and kinda digging their heels in.

Rodgers’ performance in the previous season was a shocker in itself, as he failed to grab a playoff spot for the Packers following a final gameweek defeat against the Detroit Lions. In fact, Rodgers received his lowest ever player ratings in his career.

All of these factors acted in Rodgers delaying his decision of returning to the NFL for yet another season. On the show, he also claimed that he was inclined towards a retirement at the end of the last season, with only 10 percent interest in making a return. However, all’s well that ends all, and for NFL fans there couldn’t have been a better outcome than Rodgers deciding to continue playing and probably in new avatar at the Jets.
