Aaron Rodgers is certainly the most sought-after QB of this generation. Ever since the rumors of him being traded to the Jets got viral, many started to make serious claims about his contract for the Jets.
Soon the rumors of him moving to the Jets became real as the Packers allowed the QB to hold talks with the New York-based team. Although, at first, it seemed like their talks were getting nowhere and Rodgers would stay at the Packers. However, later on, it is believed that they have got a deal in place and it seems like the veteran QB is their new ‘GM’ according to his new demands.
Apart from acquiring a big contract, it is believed that the Packers QB has given a huge list of demands to the Jets before he joins them. This demand list includes a free agent wishlist of many star-studded free agents on the market who are currently looking for a team.
The list also included current Packers players who Rodgers would like to reunite with. According to a report by ESPN, A-Rod wants to reunite with his 3 long-term Packers teammates, WR Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and TE Marcedes Lewis. Not only that, Rodgers also wants to improve the Jets’ offense and has asked them to sign the prolific free agent WR Odell Beckham Jr., who is currently in search of a new club.
‘Acting GM’ Aaron Rodgers’ plan is already in motion
It feels like Aaron Rodgers to the Jets is a done deal and the QB will reveal it on the Pat McAfee show today itself, according to strong rumors. On the other hand, the Jets have also started to work on Rodgers’s wishlist.
The Jets recently agreed on a deal with ex-Packers WR Allen Lazard for a 4-year $44 million contract. It is also reported that the New Yorkers were present through Odell Beckham Jr.’s recent private training session as well.
However, signing everyone on his list is seriously difficult for the Jets. They lack the cap space currently, and signing the 38-year-old TE Marcedes Lewis also feels like a lost cause as the Jets have serious depth in their offense.
After these recent revelations, it is highly probable that Aaron Rodgers will move to the Jets this offseason and the confirmation for the 4-time NFL MVP is imminent.
