The Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers‘ off-season trade rumors continue to grow, but the 39-year-old QB has crossed one team off the list of possible future franchises. The back-to-back MVP has shut down the doors on a potential trade to the San Francisco 49ers. It’s not like the Niners are in need of a quarterback right now, but maybe Rodgers is still salty about the Niners drafting another QB ahead of him.

During the 2005 NFL Draft, Rodgers was projected to go no.1 overall to the 49ers. However, the Niners ended up drafting Alex Smith to be their franchise quarterback. Since most of the other teams didn’t need a QB at the time, he ended up being the 24th overall pick by the Packers. Rodgers ended up having a great career winning one Super Bowl and four league MVPs with the Packers, but maybe he still holds that grudge against the 49ers.

And now, after a long successful tenure with the Packers, Rodgers is looking at other teams that could help him win the Super Bowl one more time and has been linked with multiple teams, including the Niners. However, the 4-time league MVP assured that he will not be going to San Francisco. While playing at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, American Professional Golfer Colt Knost asked Rodgers if he had any news, to which a smiling Rodgers replied, “I’m not going to San Fran.”

Where will Aaron Rodgers end up if it’s not the Packers or the 49ers?

After spending almost two decades with the Packers, Aaron Rodgers is now looking at his options for going to another team and the Packers are reportedly willing to trade Rodgers for the right package, which would include two first-round picks and inheriting Rodgers’ contract.

So the question is, who would be crazy enough to give up two first-rounders and inherit an expensive contract so that they can have a 39-year-old QB as their franchise’s signal caller? And the answer is the New York Jets.

The Jets have a playoff roster but are currently failing due to bad quarterback plays and according to multiple reports, the Jets’ owner is all in on trading for the Packers QB and willing to spend a lot of money to make that happen. The Jets, being an AFC team, will also help them in trading for the back-to-back MVP and furthermore, there aren’t many teams that either needs or can afford Rodgers at this time.

Even though the rumors about Rodgers signing with the Raiders are running wild after Davante Adamstweet, their GM has reportedly said he wants to build a team with the help of Draft, so it’s highly unlikely he will give up two first-round picks, which are a must for the Packers to trade Aaron Rodgers.
