The Las Vegas Raiders made a massive move last off-season by trading for the Packers’ star wide receiver Davante Adams to pair him up with his college teammate Derek Carr. The trade was a success as far as individual performance, but it didn’t help Carr in a way the Raiders would’ve hoped, so they had to move on from him. And now, the Raiders who need a QB, are reportedly looking to rope in Adams’ former teammate Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers had a massive slump in his performance last season partly due to losing his no.1 wide receiver Davante Adams to the Raiders in the off-season. The 39-year-old QB was forced to play with rookie pass catchers and veteran journeymen wideouts. As a result, Rodgers went from back-to-back MVP to not even finishing in the Top 10 in the league in passing yards this season.

Furthermore, his team record was also not impressive. The Packers missed the playoffs following a terrible play against their division rivals Detroit Lions in week 18 of the NFL regular season. After the team’s early exit, there have many rumors going around the league, that the Packers might move on from their franchise quarterback in the upcoming off-season.

And on the other side, despite a massive production from their new wideout Davante Adams, the Raiders regressed a lot compared to their previous season. So, they decided to trade Derek Carr away and find a new captain to steady their ship.

In brief, the Green Bay Packers are willing to trade their QB Aaron Rodgers for the right package and the Raiders are in desperate need of a good quarterback. So, naturally, the experts started to speculate about a possible trade deal between the Raiders and the Packers for the 4-time MVP Rodgers.

Amidst this, the rumors have now reached new heights after Davante Adams hinted at a possible reunion with his former QB Aaron Rodgers during a Twitter Q&A session with his fans on Wednesday night.

A Twitter user asked Adams, “Which neighborhood Aaron Rodgers is moving to?” (referring to the trade rumors), to which the All-Pro wide receiver simply replied “Mine.” Furthermore, after the tweet, several reports emerged about Adams “lobbying hard” for the Raiders to make a trade for Rodgers.

If the Raiders do want to make a trade, they would have to surrender at least two first-round draft picks and would have to inherit Rodgers’ massive contract. Moreover, they also have to find a team that would be willing to inherit Derek Carr’s expensive contract. Hence, it will be a lot of work for the Raiders GM Dave Ziegler in the upcoming NFL off-season.
