“Can’t believe he couldn’t do this with Dak” – Ex-Cowboys WR Amari Cooper setting a ‘most single-game receiving yards’ franchise record for the Browns triggers fans on social media
Amari Cooper finished with 1,160 receiving yards last season. This season, he has already logged 1,250 yards while two more weeks are remaining.

Usually, when a receiver achieves the feat of logging 265 yards in a single, he’s showered with appreciation and honor. However, that’s not the case with Amari Cooper. It seems like his new single-game record of 265 yards with the Cleveland Browns has triggered the Cowboys fans.
In the Sunday Night Football game, Cooper established himself as one of the best receivers in Browns history. His 53-yard catch in the first quarter resulted in eclipsing the 1000-yard mark for the season. And he became the first receiver in franchise history to post over 1000 yards for two consecutive games.
These numbers by Cooper have even surpassed the top receivers of the Browns, such as Paul Warfield, Eric Metcalf, Josh Gordon, and Jarvis Landry. The most interesting part is that Cooper posted such numbers despite catching passes from five quarterbacks from Cleveland in the 32 games.
In his first season with the Browns, Cooper finished with 1,160 receiving yards this season. He has already logged 1,250 yards, while two more weeks are remaining. Meanwhile, the Browns are currently standing at 10-6, battling close for the playoff seeding.
This victory against the Houston Texans was a big step forward for Cleveland in the postseason, and now their chances are better than 99% of making it. If the team defeated both Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills in the coming season, they will definitely gain a playoff spot.
Until then, Coopers’ remarkable records were all anyone was talking about. However, as stated before, his achievement hasn’t resonated with the Cowboys fans. In fact, they have been criticizing the receiver for his lack of effort with the Cowboys.
Fans are angry with Amari Cooper for his lack of efforts with Cowboys
Ahead of the March 16 start of free agency, the Dallas Cowboys were known to show quite some interest in Michael Gallup over Cooper, even Cedrick Wilson. The franchise was inclined to trade Cooper for quite some time and was closing on a new contract with Gallup.
Cooper and Dak Prescott played well for the Cowboys. However, everything changed after the team’s brutal loss to the San Francisco 49ers in January’s Wild Card playoff game in 2021. In the final play of the Cowboys, Cooper jogged for five yards as he watched Prescott running a quarterback draw and eventually failed to make any score. Check out some of the fan reaction:
Cooper failed to produce 1,000 yards for the first time with the Cowboys and also logged the second-lowest receptions of 68 in his 7-year career. With the whole fiasco. Fans were not happy as they believed Cooper could have worked well with quarterback Prescott if he wanted. But now, he is doing that for another team and another quarterback.
