Big-time Jets fan Rich Eisen goes on an emotional rant over Aaron Rodgers’ untimely ankle injury
Rich Eisen feels Aaron Rodgers will recover soon and the Jets fans have nothing to worry about.
Aaron Rodgers has changed the entire narrative surrounding the New York Jets in terms of expectations regarding the franchise’s upcoming season. After a torrid season in 2022/23, the Jets have made big signings to improve the roster and are being considered serious contenders for the Super Bowl this season.
Aaron Rodgers made the move to the Jets from the Green Bay Packers, and that was all it took to make fans increase their expectations from the last season’s fourth-placed team in the AFC East division. Rodgers joined in on the voluntary Organized Team Activities with the Jets at Florham Park, but things took a negative turn as the quarterback suffered a calf injury during the practice sessions.
To put things into perspective, this is the first time ever that the 39-year-old has actually joined the OTAs, and the injury was definitely the last thing he would have thought about. The quarterback confirmed his injury but also alleviated fears amongst fans that it was a serious one.
Aaron Rodgers tweaked his calf during the Organized Team Activities
Long-time New York Jets fan, Rich Eisen took up the Aaron Rodgers injury during the latest episode of his own podcast. Eisen, assured fans that Rodgers has suffered a minor injury, and claimed that there’s enough time for him to get fit given the season only starts way back in September.
Eisen believed that Rodgers’ injury does not necessarily mean that the Jets fans should press the panic buttons just yet. Jets No. 1 last season, Zach Wilson had a disappointing season, one which prompted the franchise to bring in a quality quarterback and the fans would not want a repeat of the last season.
“I’m not going into the season saying ‘the trapdoor is coming. It’s going to be a total disaster. This whole Rodgers thing will be totally underwhelming. He’s going to get hurt. It’s going to be Zach Wilson.’ I’m not taking the cheese. I’m not gonna be like ‘Oh the sky is falling. Typical Jets stuff. Oh, Rodgers is already on the side, can’t work out.’ Not gonna go there. It’s mid-May. Come on. He said it is minor. Whatever, it’s a calf injury,” Rich Eisen said on his show this week.
While there hasn’t been a timeline given on Rodgers’ return from injury, it is believed that he will not be sidelined for a long time especially after his own analysis of it being a minute injury.
