Another record-breaking night for the San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. He became the first 49ers quarterback in two decades to be selected as a Pro Bowl.

The 49ers quarterback has registered 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He has taken a pivotal role in ensuring success for the 49ers this season.

Apart from Purdy, eight other players have also made it to the NFC Pro Bowl this year. The likes of Christian McCaffrey, Kyle Juszczyk, Trent Williams, and the tight end George Kettle have joined Purdy from the team’s offensive half. From the team’s defense, Nick Bosa, Javon HargraveFred Warner, and Charvarius Ward have joined Purdy in the All-Pro Bowl list.

The San Francisco 49ers team congratulated everyone through a post on social media. The team has earned the No.1 seed spot in the NFC and will have the home advantage in their postseason drive. With this, they might go for some changes in the coming time. They might be resting some of their key players. Brock Purdy will also be rested.

This season was a challenging one for Purdy as he went through significant elbow surgery in the offseason. He tore his elbow ligament and as a result, went through multiple complications.

However, the quarterback came back strongly and has had one of the finest seasons. He is presently one of the frontrunners for the MVP award. He went through a rough patch temporarily but came back strongly with his performance after bye week.

Purdy takes over Jeff Garcia’s passing record

Apart from a stellar season, Purdy managed to break some records as well. Brock Purdy has taken over Jeff Garcia in covering the most number of passing yards in a single season for the 49ers. Purdy has finished his 2023 regular season with 4,280 yards of passing.

Ahead of Purdy, it was Garcia who made it to the All-Pro Bowl in the 2002 season. Since then, no one had the good fortune to make it to the Pro Bowl category. Purdy’s achievement will hence be celebrated among the fans of him and the 49ers.

This season, Purdy also broke the record of holding the highest passer rating in a season for a 49ers QB. He finished the regular season with a passer rating of 113.0. It was Steve Young earlier who used to hold the record of 112.8 passer rating. Purdy successfully took over him.
