An emotional moment in the NFL took place as Shaq Barrett, the linebacker of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, dedicated his success to his two-year-old daughter who died in a drowning accident. The LB performed a brilliant pick-six on the Monday night football and remembered his daughter, which made the fans and other spectators emotional.
“I told her, ‘I love you, miss you and I wish she was here,” Barret said in the post-match presentation. He had a heart-shaped locket where his late daughter’s name is written.
Barrett performed the pick-six in a crucial moment in the game against the Chicago Bears. Only 2:12 minutes remained when Barrett weaved inside, seeing Justin Fields from the Bears dropping back from the Chicago six-yard line. He intercepted Fields with his stretched arm and returned the ball four yards to score. The movement of the LB was key as the Bucs were leading by 20-17. It strengthened the lead, and the Bucs ended up winning the game with a margin of 27-17. With this, the Bucs snatched back-to-back wins in consecutive matches.
Barrett later dedicated the win and also the season to his late daughter. Last season was a challenge for him as the player was suffering from his torn Achilles. He suffered the injury on his Achilles in Week 8 last season. The injury wreaked havoc on him and a lot of people thought that the player would not be able to come back to the field. However, he proved everyone wrong and came back to the field with a match-winning performance.

Barrett impressed everyone with his passion for the game
Barrett’s life is no less than a fairy tale where people suffer the hardest, yet they do not lose hope. After suffering a major injury, Barrett also went through one of his biggest personal losses. His two-year-old daughter Arrayah passed away in a drowning accident and he along with his family, went through immeasurable grief for the past four months.

It was almost thought that his field return would be difficult, as a personal shock like this often leaves a deep-lying shock on someone’s psyche. However, Barrett is made of a different soil. He not only returned to the field, but also did his best to win for Tampa.
Impressed by the performance of Barrett, coach Todd Bowles said, “To see him go through it and come out on the other side — and I’m sure he still has days — but to play like he’s playing right now, to be where he is right now is unbelievable.” He also did not hide his joy over the LB’s performance.
