Jalen Hurts is one of the most improved players in the league this season. From being a backup to Carson Wentz in year one to being an MVP-calibre quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in his year three is a massive leap that not a lot of people expected from him. However, there are still some people out there who are not sold on the young and coming QB Hurts including the NBC analyst Chris Simms.

It is a well-known fact that the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Chris Simms is not the biggest fan of Jalen Hurts as he has been spewing brainless takes about the third-year quarterback now and then. Simms previously said that due to the abundance of talent the Eagles have, they could simply start their second-string quarterback Gardner Minshew and still be as successful as they have been while starting Jalen Hurts.

However, the theory was proven to be bogus, when Hurts went down with a shoulder injury and the Philadelphia-based franchise was forced to start their backup QB for two games and lost both of them. Chris Simms was forced to eat his words and got slammed on social media after the Eagles lost with Minshew as their QB. Furthermore, due to the trolls, he had a breakdown on national television and cursed out ESPN’s SportsCenter with NSFW words for constantly calling him out on his brainless takes about Jalen Hurts.

And now, after coming back from injury, Hurts and the Eagles haven’t lost a single game including two playoff games against the NY Giants and the San Francisco 49ers, and yet Chris Simms is still adamant about his Jalen Hurts’ take.

Chris Simms recently sat down with John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia to talk about the upcoming Super Bowl, where he implied that Hurts succeeds because of the weapons around him.

“I understand the pocket passing is there, but you have to worry about so many other things to play Philadelphia,” Simms said. “Jalen Hurts is a big part of that and he capitalizes on all that, and I’m certainly not trying to take anything away from that. But playing quarterback for the Eagles right now is set up to be one of the easier quarterback jobs in the sport.”

On the sporting side of things, Hurts and the Eagles would be focused on the Kansas City Chiefs led by their MVP frontrunner Patrick Mahomes, who they will be facing in the Super Bowl this weekend.
