Tom Brady is washed. Tom Brady isn’t what he used to be. Tom Brady needs to retire. These comments are flooding the NFL newsletters following Tampa Bay’s disappointing season and wild-card loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Brady ended his 23rd season in the NFL with a playoff loss and is a free agent now. And with good reason, analysts and fans are speculating where the 7x Super Bowl winner will land next year or retire and call it a career.

He had a bad season, which is an understatement given Brady’s past performance, but that’s what one can expect from a 45-year-old quarterback. But given Brady’s hunger for success, there is a very high probability that he returns next year.

Colin Cowherd speculated on where Tom Brady might land next year on his show, The Herd. “There’s a lot of speculation that Tom could go to Vegas. I think Miami is also interested despite the leaks they are all in on Tua (Tagovailoa),” Cowherd said. “Vegas makes a lot of sense. They have his buddy Josh McDaniels. They are gonna make a run. It seems inevitable.”

Las Vegas Raiders parted ways with Derek Carr, who led them for nine years after a 6-11 losing season. There is no way the Raiders move forward with Jarrett Stidham at quarterback. Las Vegas already has an elite receiving core consisting of Davante Adams, elite running backs, elite tight ends, and an offensive line. So, it makes perfect sense for Brady to land in Las Vegas. An added benefit is Josh McDaniels as the head coach who was the offensive coordinator at New England.

Cowherd further said that Tom Brady knows he’s not the same quarterback he was years ago, and that he needs star players to elevate him. “Brady’s not the same quarterback he was five-six years ago,” Colin said. In his prime, Brady took no-name receivers and turned them into stars and future Hall of Fame athletes. Exhibit A – Julian Edelman. The former Super Bowl MVP has shared during his interviews that Brady used to make him run routes during the offseason and make him train overtime than any other receivers.

Exhibit B- Danny Amendola. The 2022 Brady is not the same guy anymore, and he needs people to protect him and star receivers to make the play and elevate him and not the other way around. “Miami’s got a lot of pieces on offense. The Raiders have a lot of pieces on offense both have star receivers or tight ends. To me we can say he’s washed. It’s a classic overreaction,” he added. Cowherd believes Brady has still got a few years left in the tank and he will see him in 2023, but in which jersey that is yet to be decided.

Tampa Bay is also in the run for potential spots for Brady to land. And looks like Gronk might also come out of retirement, so it will be interesting to see which of these three teams makes their move and where Brady makes a run at the Super Bowl.
