Courtland Sutton is currently the apple of the Broncos country’s eye. It was his last-gasp catch that saved their skins in a closely fought game at Mile High.

The Minnesota Vikings flew down to Denver with back-to-back wins under their belt. Looking with Joshua Dobbs at their helm, they were confident of extending their winning streak to three.

Similar to Minnesota, the Denver Broncos have caught a second wind. They went into Sunday night’s game to gain more money for their late charge for the post-season bout.

With just under 2 minutes left on the clock, the visitors led the game by 6 points. Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson led a 75-yard drive forward inside Vikings territory. He threw a looping pass to Courtland Sutton right in the corner of the endzone, which the 28-year-old plucked out of the air.

Sutton outlept cornerback Mekhi Blackmon, who was eyeing an interception from the Wilson pass but wasn’t able to reach his intended target. That was the final play of the game. The referee blew the final whistle, and Denver won their fourth straight game to make it 5-5 after losing four in the first five games.

Russell Wilson said Courtland Sutton is a leader

Despite leading the game most of the night, the Minnesota Vikings turned the ball over three times, and two ended up handing Denver valuable points. For that reason, they were able to keep up. This was the first thing Wilson said during the post-game interview with NBC’s Melissa Stark.

Our defense was lights out, man! They were unbelievably They have been unbelievable every week.

Stark asked him about his thoughts about the “connection” with Sutton in the last couple of weeks. To which the QB replied,

We have been working, you know. I think the best thing about him is that he [Courtland Sutton] leads every day. Every time he comes into the building, he comes excited.

The Pro Bowler finished the game with four catches from five targets and gained 66 yards and one touchdown. He too highlighted that it was a team effort that got them the victory.

Sutton said:

The faith and the confidence our teammates have in each other, man, I love this team. We get our backs to the wall, and all we do is keep fighting, keep throwing punches, and keep swinging. As Rus said, our defense played their butts off. They gave us a lot of opportunities to go out there. You know it's a group effort.

Wilson finished the game with 27/35 for 259 yards, a 77% completion rate, and one touchdown (7 in the last 4 games, 18 overall). With the win, they are now second in the AFC West behind the Kansas City Chiefs, and next, they will face the Cleveland Browns.
