Micah Parsons is done with the bias adopted by the NFL to protect the QB after the recent Tom Brady and Derek Carr incident. Parson recently went on a Twitter rant to call out the NFL for their poor and one-sided officiating that only protects the famous players and passers.

The Cowboys LB asked an important question: what about the defensive players who are laying their life on the line to make a tackle? The 2021 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year called out the NFL for being ‘terrible’ and ‘biased’. Two calls, in particular, inspired this rant from the Cowboys defender. First the Tom Brady incident, and second the Derek Carr incident.

The Bucs QB Tom Brady was taken down by the Falcons’ defender and immediately a flag was thrown for a foul that looked clean. A similar thing happened in the Cowboys-Rams game, but when Micah Parson was held by the Rams player, no flag was thrown disappointing the Cowboys LB.

“We won’t call this but we’ll call a roughing the passer lol! Can we focus in and protect defensive players?, Micah Parsons captioned a picture which shows his being held by a Rams offensive lineman.

Micah Parsons was enraged after a foul was given to Chiefs defenseman Chris Jones was attempting and succeeding at a clean tackle on Raiders QB Derek Carr, but if the same thing were to happen to a defensive player, no foul would be given.

This bias officiating indicates that there’s a certain hierarchy involved in the NFL system and some players are more important than others. This shouldn’t be the case, as every single player is equally important and football is a team sport. So what if one player is more famous than the other?

It is pretty evident that the NFL is trying to make football safer and less physically violent, but they are only protecting the passers and the defensive players don’t get fair treatment even in terms of wages and salary structure.

This is also one of the reasons Micah Parsons called out the NFL to have 7 on 7 games where no defensive players are needed.
