The Aaron Rodgers saga might be coming to hurried ending anytime soon. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback is reportedly in advanced talks with the New York Jets to agree to a trade move in the upcoming days, and it is just about the only thing that the NFL world can talk about at this time.
Although the trade has not been officially confirmed by either parties of the Packers, one of the biggest NFL analysts has practically given his confirmation that Rodgers will indeed be playing for the Jets cometh the start of the 2023/24 NFL season in September.
Former NFL quarterback turned analyst, Dan Orlovsky spoke about Rodgers’ impending move and what his future might look like in the coming days. Orlovsky felt that the hold up in announcing the contract does not have something to do with Rodgers’ reluctance, but is due to his agent figuring out the best deal for him.
Aaron Rodgers’ move to the Jets is a “done deal” according to Dan Orlovsky
He also mentioned that both Rodgers and him had the same agent in David Dunn and understood how the latter went on about his business. Speaking on ESPN’s the Get Up show he said, “I think Aaron Rodgers to the Jets is a done deal. I’ve felt that for like a week. I just honestly believe that. I think they’re trying to figure out how to make it work…”
Aaron Rodgers has so far played the waiting game, in making a decision on his immediate future. After a horrendous season with the Packers in which he failed to qualify for the playoffs, he went into a four day darkness retreat, in a bid to make a decision with a 100 percent surety.
However, he came out of it days ago, but is yet to make a statement. Despite all the rumors coming in, linking Rodgers to the Jets, he is still a Packers player after having signed a three year contract extension worth $150 million last year.
The Packers have made it clear on their part that they won’t stand in Rodgers’ path even if the 39-year-old wants to get traded to the Jets. Therefore, in the coming days the move will in all probability be confirmed and will be one of the biggest trades of the 2023/24 offseason.
