“Old fashioned b*tt-kicking,” Deion Sanders refuses pity for Colorado after 6-42 loss as he praises Oregon’s Dan Lanning’s preparation amid fighting for clicks comment

Sanders pointed out that the Buffaloes were out classed by the Ducks because of how well coached they are.

The Colorado Buffaloes winning streak had to end at some point. But coach Deion Sanders probably wasn’t expecting a 42-6 beatdown against the Oregon Ducks. In his words, they were ‘hot garbage’ on the day.

“We played like hot garbage,” Sanders told the media after the game. “Good old-fashioned b*tt-kicking. No excuses.”

The game was a mess for the Buffs from start to finish. Not only was it one of their worst defensive performances since Sanders took over, but they also failed to provide any entertainment on the offensive front. Right from the kickoff, the Ducks were in control of the game without conceding a single point and scoring 42. The Buffs were outplayed at every step of the way, giving away 518 total yards of offense while failing to gain even 200 total yards themselves.

This begs the question: where was the offensive line? Coach Prime should have identified that it was a problem. Barring Nebraska, the Buffaloes let in 77 points in two games against TCU and the Colorado Rams.

It became evident when the defenders constantly racked up penalties. To make matters worse, the Oregon students in the stands at Autzen Stadium chanted “overrated” whenever the CU defenders would make a mistake. It was clear to see that the Boulder team was increasingly getting frustrated. That escalated when Buffs’ offensive tackle Savion Washington grabbed Ducks quarterback Bo Nix‘s face mask on a third-quarter drive.

“We lost offensively and defensively,” Deion Sanders added. “Well-coached team [the Oregon Ducks]. Defensively, we just couldn’t get around or advance the ball. It seemed like they had our number. Hats off to the coaching staff and their head coach! They did a great job.”

Deion Sanders claps back at Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning

Despite the shaky performance, the hype that Deion Sanders brought with him will not fade, and they can build it back up again. But to do that, the Buffaloes need to learn from their mistakes and need it quickly. The Ducks game will be the benchmark from which they can build upon and rectify their shortcomings that got Shedeur Sanders sacked seven times.

That loss will be hard to swallow after all the banter before the game. The Ducks head coach, Dan Lanning, taunted the Buffaloes, saying, “They’re fighting for clicks, and we’re fighting for wins.”

But Prime Time is not someone who would take a defeat at face value. He knows how to make a reply. “I don’t say stuff just to say it for a click, contrary to what somebody said,” Deion Sanders revealed. “Our confidence offends their insecurity. It is what it is. I signed up for it.”

Well, they have a lot of work to do, and Deion understands that. If they want to keep the doubters’ mouths shut, then their best reply will be a win in the next game.

“We ain’t got time to have a pity party,” Deion Sanders said. “Get your butt up and let’s go. Ain’t nobody walking around the locker room with napkins and tissues. We got some work to do. I can see the future, and it looks really good.”

That may be true, but they are facing the fifth-ranked USC Trojans. Led by Heisman Award-holder Caleb Williams, they are strong favorites to go the distance.
