“Meanwhile scumbag Deshaun Watson gets a huge contract”: NFL Twitter reacts to Derek Carr’s recent comments on Colin Kaepernick possibly being a Raider

If you are Derek Carr, you are probably excited and are itching for the NFL season to begin. The quarterback is probably the best set up for success this year in terms of the roster in comparison to any other year in his entire career. He has been reunited with his college wideout, Davante Adams who is a bonafide star in the NFL, the Raiders have retained Hunter Renfrow another underrated wideout, and OLB Chandler Jones, on the defensive end, the team has retained DE Maxx Crosby as well.

The Las Vegas Raiders have spent a whopping $440 million on these 5-players and in order to ensure they have a solid backup quarterback, the team gave an opportunity to Colin Kaepernick, who has been out of the league for the past five to six years due to his stance on the treatment of black people in the country. He has been away from the game for a long time but he is still in shape and has continued to work out as well. He looked good in his tryouts but the Raiders have not yet confirmed or denied if he will be playing for them this season.

“I think he’d be great.” Derek Carr thinks Colin Kaepernick would fit in perfectly with the Raiders:

Carr made the following statement when asked about Kaepernick, “I’ve known Colin since our days playing in the WAC Conference, which is no longer a thing. I remember our days back then, just watching him and what he did at college, getting to know him, and talking to him on the phone. I think he’s a great guy, he’s been great to be around, I’ve enjoyed being around him, talking to him, and competing against him. I said (to Josh McDaniels), ‘I’ve enjoyed my time around him, I love him, he and I would get along great.’ For me, I enjoyed my time with him.”

NFL Twitter reacted to Carr’s remarks and some felt that he was not being brutally honest here. Take a look:

Probably a true patriot who is still made over the stance that Colin Kaepernick took.

We can only expect that he was being honest apart from that there is no other way.

That is how the world works, it is not necessarily fair always.

That is true, Derek Carr does not stand to lose anything if the Raiders opt to sign Kaepernick. Only if he is unable to start due to an injury, will Colin get a chance to play, apart from that it is doubtful that he will ever get a chance to play.
