Despite receiving loads of DMs from various corners, Tyreek Hill will not retract his comments on the New England Patriots and their fans. He hasn’t forgotten what it’s like to play on the opposing team at Foxborough as an African American.

Football brings out the best and the worst in a fan. The pressure of securing bragging rights does put pressure on a certain section, but that doesn’t mean one should cross the line. Hill said the same thing yesterday on his podcast. He claimed that the Patriots are one of the best franchises in history, but he is not fond of their fanbase.

“A lot of people are talking about my comments about the New England Patriots having the worst fanbase,” Hill told co-host Julius Collins of the ‘It Needed to Be Said’ podcast. “I will say that. People are still ‘Dming’ me to this day, saying racial stuff, which is crazy! You guys lost, so take your L.”

The Patriots are going through a slump (some would say a rebuilding phase). Results have not been the same since Tom Brady left for Tampa. A fanbase that’s used to lifting trophies nowadays finds a win hard to come by. They are no doubt angry and frustrated with their constant shortcomings. But that doesn’t mean it’s okay to vent malice at players.

“The New England Patriots has run football for decades,” Hill acknowledged. “[But] you just gotta realize times have changed.”

Last Sunday, the Miami Dolphins rolled into Gilette Stadium as the favorites. Despite Hill not playing a major part in the game, they managed to win 24-17. The 29-year-old only had five receptions for 40 yards and a solitary touchdown. After the game, he revealed, “[Patriots] fans are some of the worst fans in the NFL.”

Tyreek Hill doesn’t have fond memories of playing in the New England Patriots stadium

The recent chatter surrounding Tyreek Hill and the Patriots fans is nothing new. One might even say they have beef with each other.

In October 2018, when Hill was part of the Kansas City Chiefs, he had a horrible experience at Foxborough. A fan reportedly threw beer on the Pro Bowler during the game. The local police department later identified the man and charged him with disorderly conduct and throwing an object at a sporting event.

It occurred during Hill’s 75-yard catch-and-run touchdown late in the fourth quarter. His momentum forced him into the endzone barrier, where fans stood and cheered.
