The rivalry between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines is one of the biggest rivalries in the college football world. Whenever the Buckeyes take on the Wolverines, it becomes a huge deal for football fans. In that trend, the New York Jets wide receiver and the Ohio State product Garrett Wilson got carried over the rivalry and made a bet on his alma mater defeating the Wolverines.
After the Buckeyes lost to the Wolverines, Wilson had to honor the bet he made with the Jets beat reporter Caroline Hendershot. Wilson had to wear the jersey of his rival team to the press conference.
I lost a few bets, I lost to Caroline, so me and (Jeremy) Ruckert are in some Michigan gear today and that’s how it should be. But next year it ain’t going to be this way. She’s had to deal with some losing seasons too.Wilson said on the press conference.
Seeing Wilson repping the Wolverines blue didn’t sit well with many Ohio State fans on social media. But the wide receiver is hoping for his former team to straighten the ship soon and take revenge in a potential playoff matchup.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have now lost 3 games in a row against the Wolverines after managing to beat them in 8 consecutive games before that. Nonetheless, Wilson would hope to get his revenge on reporter Hendershot either this year itself in a potential college football playoff game or next year, when the two conference rivals will once again take the stage to entertain the fans.
On the sporting side of things, Garrett Wilson and the Jets are looking to defeat the struggling Atlanta Falcons, who they are scheduled to face in a tough week 13 matchup.
Garrett Wilson’s Ohio State teammate C.J. Stroud also lost a bet
Along with the Jets receiver Garrett Wilson, his former teammate and the Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud also lost a bet on their alma mater Buckeyes defeating the defending Big 10 champions Michigan Wolverines.

Stroud made a bet with NFL legend and former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady in an episode of Let’s Go! podcast. Brady bet Stroud a Super Bowl ring on his former school beating the Buckeyes and ended up winning the bet.
Unlike Wilson, the Texans QB didn’t have to go through any punishment as a result of his bet, since Brady only jokingly wanted Stroud’s ‘youth and speed’ in the bet. So, Stroud escaped his alma mater’s loss without having to suffer a lot.
