The Matriarch of Kansas City Chiefs Norma Hunt passed away on Sunday at age 85, and the football world is in mourning after the loss of its First Lady. Heartfelt messages have been pouring in continuously on social media from all corners. Gracie Hunt, the Kansas City Chiefs heiress, took to Instagram and shared some of her memories.
The only woman to attend every Super Bowl, Norma Hunt, was the wife of late Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt, who passed away in 2006. After that, his son, Clark Hunt, took over the reins at the Chiefs.
Norma Hunt was in attendance when the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII, beating the Philadelphia Eagles. She lifted up the Vince Lombardi Trophy alongside her son. This was the third time the Kansas City Chiefs had won the famous trophy.
Afterward, Clark Hunt issued a statement on the official Chiefs page: “Our family (Hunt) is deeply saddened by the passing of our mother, Norma. She was a wonderful mother and an extraordinary woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Kind, generous, and unfailingly positive, Mom was one of a kind. Her joy and zeal for life were infectious. She loved caring for others, and she always had an encouraging word.”
Clark’s daughter, Gracie Hunt, also posted a heartwarming message about Norma Hunt on her Instagram account, saying, “Heaven gained an angel.” You can hear Dean Lewis’ famous song “How Do I Say Goodbye” in the background.
She shared a video of when the Chiefs won their latest Super Bowl. Norma Hunt can be seen walking down to the Chiefs Arrowhead Stadium to lift the trophy.

Heartwarming messages pour in from all corners for Norma Hunt
The passing of Norma Hunt has deeply affected her family, the Chiefs, but they can take solace in the fact that she is with the Lord, the Savior. Furthermore, her sudden passing has shocked the world of the NFL, as heartwarming messages and goodbyes pour in every minute. Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs’ Super Bowl MVP quarterback, penned a very emotional message. He wrote on his Twitter handle,” Mrs. Norma was the best. Glad, to be part of this special organization she help build.”
Not just Mahomes, but other NFL teams too said their farewell to Norma Hunt and showed gratitude for all of her valuable contributions to the game’s growth.
The host of “Undisputed” Skip Bayless also posted a goodbye. He said that he knew both Lamar and Norma Hunt very well and that they were good people.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement saying, “In memory of Norma Hunt,” the entire NFL family is deeply saddened by the passing of Norma Hunt, who was a significant presence in the NFL for the last seven decades. I was fortunate to know Norma for nearly 40 years and was always struck by her warmth and grace, her partnership with Lamar, and her pride in their family. Norma’s sense of family extended to the Chiefs’ organization, which she greatly adored. Norma was one of the most passionate fans of the Chiefs and the NFL, and she understood and enjoyed every aspect of the game.”
Norma Hunt will always be remembered as the woman who created the NFL. The only person to attend every Super Bowl. She will forever be the First Lady.
