Aaron Rodgers
Tom Brady was right. There is indeed a lot of bad football being played this season. The Green Bay Packers game against the New York Giants was a testament to that statement. In the NFL’s international game, both the teams faced off in London, and what a game it was. The Packers started the game off on a high note by taking the lead early on while the Giants stumbled in the first half of the game and struggled.
However, the jet lag seems to have got the best of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, as after halftime, it was downhill for the team. The offense began to come apart and the team’s defense…there is only one word to summarize their performance. Terrible. Despite making roster upgrades in the offseason, the team’s defense has somehow managed to become worse. Head Coach Matt LaFleur was no exception. He made some horrendous calls in the second half, which seemed surprising.
“Horrendous play calling”: Matt LaFleur deserves to be blamed for the Green Bay Packers’ loss against the New York Giants.

Aaron Rodgers ended the game with 222 passing yards and threw two touchdowns to Allen Lazard and Marcedes Lewis. The game was historic as Lewis became the first, 1st-round draft pick to whom Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown. It would have been more impressive if the team had won the game, but we have to give credit where credit is due. The Packers started off great and at halftime; they had contained the Giants to 20-10.
Everything seemed to be going as expected. Though New York started the season with a 3-1 record, most of us counted the team out of the game against Green Bay. However, HC Brian Daboll’s brilliance was on full display. He switched things up, and instead of relying heavily on the run game with Saquon Barkley, he gave Daniel Jones an opportunity to show up and prove himself. Prove himself, he did. Jones had the best game of this season, though he did not throw any touchdowns. He set the team up in the perfect positions, and from that point on, the run game took over.
Saquon Barkley may be making the case for being one of the best running backs in the league. He ran for 70 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per carry, and had one rushing touchdown. Gary Brightwell and Daniel Bellinger also contributed when the team needed them the most and had a touchdown each. Jones ended the game with 217 passing yards and 37 yards rushing. Amongst the receiver core, Darius Slay had 79 yards from 6 receptions. In the second half, New York came in all guns blazing and scored on five straight drives to come back from a 10-point deficit to lead the game 22-27. The Packers, on the other hand, could not convert anything and Matt LaFleur’s terrible play-calling made things worse for the team.
Aaron Rodgers had one last chance to make a play in the final seconds of the game and he threw up a Hail Mary in despair, but to his bad luck, that play did not work either. After the game, Packers fans were furious about the team’s performance and took to Twitter to criticize the team, the defense in particular.

They had the whole game in control. All they had to do was maintain their lead, but that defense, in combination with LaFleur’s play calling, ended up costing them the game.
A response straight from the heart.
It’s hard when most of your wideouts are rookies and your experienced receivers are nowhere to be seen in the clutch moments.
Watson was shut down by the defense today. He ended up losing 3 yards when it came to rushing.
That was some excellent play calling and time management by Brian Daboll and the Giants. This team is indeed a different squad from what we saw last year.
Nothing good to say about Matt LaFleur this week. He just does not seem to be the right man for the job at this moment.
That is definitely a first for Rodgers.
Danny Dimes is the man of the night.
Cannot wait to tune in to Undisputed tomorrow morning.
Run. The. Ball. It is that simple at times. To make matters worse, Daniel Jones had 10 carries in the game while A.J. Dillon, the running back, ended with 6 carries.
That seems to be the common consensus today.
Despite losing the game today, Green Bay still has a chance to come back stronger next week. Meanwhile, congratulations New York Giants fans and Daniel Jones, you earned this victory.
